If the hair is longer than half an inch and there are at least 100-120 strands you will be fine. It is suggested that the roots are aligned but they will run the test for you if they are not. The approximate time frame represented by a half inch of hair from the head is 30 days. However, if you are planning to purchase the Legal Workplace Hair Drug Test Kit, they will have to run the hair as "anonymous" rather than as whomever signed the Custody and Control form if the roots are not properly aligned.
