Detection Period - can be detected in urine up to 3-5 days after use Detection Level - 1,000 ng/mL (d-Methamphetamine as the Calibrator*) Brief description of drug: Addictive stimulant drug that has a high potential for abuse and dependency Typically prescribed for: Attention deficit disorder with hyperactivity, obesity Effects: Increased wakefulness and physical activity, decreased appetite Forms: White pill or powder; crystal meth looks like pieces of glass or shiny blue-white “rocks” of different sizes Methods of consumption: Swallowed, snorted, smoked, injected An increasingly common drug, Methamphetamine is an addictive stimulant, related to amphetamine but stronger. The 2005 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) estimated that 10.4 million people age 12 or older (4.3 percent of the population) have tried methamphetamine at some time in their lives (read more about this study here). Methamphetamine is longer lasting than amphetamine, and has stronger effects on the central nervous system. Our methamphetamine home drug test is easy to use and extremely accurate - 99% accurate, in fact. All you need to conduct the test is one of our test strips and a urine sample. If you would like to know if methamphetamine has been recently used, this is the home drug test for you. Although there are some limited medical uses for methamphetamine, the chemicals used to manufacture methamphetamine are often illegally diverted from legitimate sources. Some of these precursor chemicals include pseudoephedrine (found in over-the-counter cold medicines), anhydrous ammonia (primarily used as an agricultural fertilizer and industrial refrigerant), and red phosphorus (used in matches). Meth comes in more than one form and can be smoked, snorted, injected, or orally ingested, though smoking has become more common recently. Smoking leads to very rapid brain intake, which multiplies the user’s potential for addiction and health implications. Street methamphetamine is referred to by many names, such as “speed,” “meth,” and “chalk.” Methamphetamine hydrochloride, clear chunky crystals resembling ice, which can be inhaled by smoking, is referred to as “ice,” “crank,” “crystal,” “tina,” and "glass.” SYMPTOMS OF METH USESigns of meth use can include: A euphoric/high state in the user; loss of appetite; dilated pupils; and increases in physical activity, eye movement, nervousness, body temperature, sweating, and talking. Long-term use of meth has many negative health consequences, and may be indicated by extreme weight loss, severe dental problems (“meth mouth”), anxiety, confusion, insomnia, mood disturbances, and violent behavior. Chronic methamphetamine abusers can also display a number of psychotic features, including paranoia, visual and auditory hallucinations, and delusions (for example, the sensation of insects crawling under the skin). METH TEST - THE ONE WAY URINE TESTThis meth test is very easy to do. You must collect a urine sample from any time of the day in a clean and dry container. Immerse your meth test into the urine and wait for 5 minutes. A positive result is shown when no line appears in the Test Region of the card and means the drug concentration in the urine sample is greater than the designated cut-off/detection level for methamphetamine. *The Methamphetamine urine drug test uses d-Methamphetamine as the calibrator for the stated 1,000 ng/mL testing level. The following table lists the concentrations of compounds (ng/mL) that are detected as positive in this urine drug test
